Colors therapy

I don't know how about the weather where you live, but here more than a week of raining days and grey sky. So for my colors therapy against the cloudy days today I made this pincushion inspired by Kajsa book .

Are it just cute?

It make me smile!

Grey sunday

During a grey and wet Sunday I dream in colors.

This are wonderful and just colorful hand dyed fabrics from my stash and on which I thinking for a new liberated project.

Modern pot holder tutorial

Do you like my new pot holders?...you can make them too!

You need 2 pieces of fabrics and 1 of special thermal stuffing about 9x5 inch (22x12,5cm), a label or a little piece of a nice ribbon and the template.


(Click here to enlarge and print the template...if you have any problem, please, mail me and I will send the template in PDF form.)

Draw the template on the fabric back side....
....and sew following the line to join the sandwich in this order.
Remember to leave an opening to turn inside out .
Cut the fabric around....

...turn inside out and press.

Stitch all around to close the opening and sign the middle with a decorative stitch.

Your new pot holder is done!

Blogger's Quilt Festival time

Welcome all!

For this edition of the Blogger's Quilt Festival I have chosen to share with you the very first quilt I made.

I took the basic level class on January 2003 and before the class was ended I had already finished my City Log Cabin quilt.

As you can guess I love it even if my quilting style is so changed now!

But this little quilt has a special place on the wall in my home and in my heart too!

Just lovely!

Hurrah! Today I have received one of the early copies of Scandinavian Stitches book ! Kajsa, the author, is a joyful and talented woman and her book is JUST LOVELY as her blog !

Finally the LOVE top is done!

Grey sky and wet day didn't help me into take a good pic...sorry!

I have completed the sashing with some wonky corner blocks and the outer border is made with two purple shades and some random L,O,V and E blocks.

Also Trudi says I made a good job!

Today is too late to take a good pic and you have to wait till tomorrow to see the whole top.

I'm happy for the work of this afternoon.

Slow progress

The LOVE quilt goes on so slow...but I can share some little progress. I have decided on a layout with sashing that add a touch of light to the dense colors of the blocks.

To make a no regular grid has been less easy as I expected...
