BOM Progress

Do you remember the low volume blocks I made some time ago?
They were the start of a BOM project...
...and this is the progress!

4.4.13

Busy , Busy ...

I have been so busy in the last days!
A new quilt made in collaboration with my dear friend Irene .

And if you enjoyed  the photos of the BOM 2012 you can see the progress of the BOM 2013 here !

Low Contrast quilt

I love how it grow !

BOM 2013

These are the very early blocks I made for the BOM 2013 class that will start in February.

I'm happy for how they turned out and hope the class could have  the same success of the last year BOM (if you are curious have a look here to see the BOM2012 ).

The second project on which I'm  working in this days is an assembling log cabins bag.
On the left the original project made with wool and on the right the log cabins piece with which I will make the next.

Time to Finish

As in my life some things arrived to the end so I need to finish the projects on which I have worked in the last period.

The Amish houses quilt is totally done...

The Kaffe Fasset houses quilt is just ready to be quilted...

The Butterfly quilt is waiting to be quilted too.
It's time to finish !

More photos

Again some photos of the BOM Houses quilt in progress.  Better colors but not still the real (no good light in this days here).  These are the blocks I made with the scraps of the blocks. I want  to add  them to the border. They are 4" square and are really cute. The idea , as I said , is to mix  randomly pieces of  roofs fabrics and these blocks. Hope the photos can give you  the sensation  of the layout.

By the way , also  the butterfly blocks are growing on my design wall. I have an idea for the border of this quilt too. But is too early for this...next time!

Decision

I'm trying to decide what kind of fabrics to use for the sashing and the border of the BOM Houses project.
As usually my helper puts her own touch to the layout and adds interest to the whole work....
...as you can see two blocks are again to be finished  (on the last row) and one is totally to make , but the blocks already done are enough to have an idea of the final effect.

The idea is to use the light blue fabric for the sashing with some colorful cornerstones and free size pieces of the roofs fabrics for the border with the random add of little colorful blocks as a remind of the side of the houses.

...this the idea...the progress will come...

Back to home and back to homes...

After some weeks of vacation spent  in a very originally country  now  I'm finally back to home....and back to my  BOM homes project too !

The block of this month is a big double wheel made with fly geese units in two different colors ... and the project is growing ...

6.6.12

BOM Houses June

This is the block for the month of June for my BOM project. The block isn't really easy but at last the result is nice...for the next block we have to wait for the next month :-))

My Blogger's (not again a)Quilt Festival

I know, I know the saying..."it isn't a quilt until it's quilted"...
...and so, okay,...I haven't a  finished quilt for the Blogger's Festival Spring edition...
...do you forgive me if I show you just a top?

This is my first project using only solid colors and I have loved to make it!
I have taken inspiration from a quilt I saw on a Quiltmania magazine but I have changed the roof and rearranged all the measures of the blocks and I have proposed it as a monthly project (BOM) into a quilts shop where I teach .
So this is just the sampler... and I'm so curious to see how all the quilts (now again in progress) will turn out.

This is the block I prefer..a little (five inches) , bright, full solid colors pineapple!

And , as every year, many THANKS to Amy for organizing this wonderful quilts and blogs tour!

ENJOY THE TOUR!

BOM

Here the month of May for the Kaffe houses BOM project. The little houses are growing...and changing again...( first option here , second option here)
The color effect is really different if you consider the single block or the total and every add change again the effect...so I think some variation could  be again .... a very WIP project !

16.4.12

Too long

To leave a project on the design wall for a long (too long) time isn't always a good idea.
Every time I look at it I find something to change...
so, this is the new color version of my Kaffe houses top still in progress...
...will it the last one?
(You can say the fist one version here

5.4.12

WIP

Did you remember my BOM houses blocks?
Finally with the new month a new block !        I have made all the roofs and all the fronts  and now  I'm just waiting for the new one  ... long time ... until the next month ...
