Remember Hexies?

Thinking for a new Hexies class I have tried  a little project to propose...I have found  an hexies little purse on a Japanese book and  it seemed nice , easy and speedy to make...
...it wasn't...

...I have worked on it many hours and I'm not sure to be satisfied by the result...

...maybe I will propose the pentagon ball as in the last classes.....better, isn't it?

Easy Hexies

I was looking for an easy way to adjust the colorful hexies rosettes I made last winter.

I have started to make them without a project in mind , just followed the fun of the colors and the shape...but now I want to keep them out of the box where they were waiting for me...

Looking through the wonderful hexies book of my friend Hilde I have had the idea to place every one on a same color tone background block and then to arrange them in a rainbow colors quilt.
Do you like the project?

5.3.11

Hexies purse

A very tiny hexies rosette makes much prettier the simple purse...

...near some coins from U.S., U.K. and Denmark (the one with the hole!).

28.2.11

During the last 4 days...

...I was left without telephone line at home to my telephone company...so no Internet, no mail, no one distraction...so I can show some progress I made in the Pixie medallion...

...just to give you (and me too) an idea on how it will turn out.

...and a new fabric collection I received.

I bought a pre-cuts Layer Cake and a Charm Pack maybe for the first time...
...what do you think about pre-cuts fabrics?

...for now I'm crazy for the this running after the ball dogs!

13.2.11

Not only hexies...

...but also pixies (look for the great tutorial here) ...
Thank you Hilde!

...and pentagons rosettes...

...all made with the Liesels technique I have learned into this wonderful book. It explain all about pentagons projects and I received it last week as birthday gift from my friends.

The authors (Liesel and Hilde) have made also another book with all the secrets to make perfect hexie. I posted here something about it. I love both the books and I'm enchanted by the quilts the authors made. So magic!

About my work I recognize the back is no perfect...I can make better, I know...

Front side... I prefer... :-)
