New Double Wedding Ring
The traditional Double Wedding Ring block takes on a new look with the use of modern fabrics...
The block is not difficult but it certainly presents some points to watch out for...
.... a very good exercise also for skilled quilters!

Vinyl Case
Why not start the new year with a small new case? ...or , better , two?
These with a vinyl side are easy to make but very useful to keep in order cutters, pens and small tools.
And as it is fun to choose the fabrics!
...and here is the third ! .... these cases are addictive :-))

October
Today begins October one of the months that I love most.
But the ideas run back and so here's a little preview of Christmas projects.
Little red houses will be hung on a dry branch to create a village....
... and a little snowman made with Japanese appliqué will smile on a precious mug rug.

Double wedding ring my way
To celebrate the start of Fall (my preferred season) I tried a very traditional patchwork design
the Double Wedding Ring....but , of course , in my way.
It's totally new for me .
After a long run on Pinterest and Google imagine looking for an inspiration I decided for a mix of black & white fabrics for the background and a selection of colorful Kaffe Fassett prints for the rings. Actually I don't know if I will made a quilt or just a table runner or something else ...
...just I will follow the fun

Paper piecing
After the spools test I have gone ahead with the experiments in paper piecing.
The iron seems nice and the teapot is the next figure in my program...
Some time ago I found this technique a little too laborious, but now beginning to appreciate it more and more

Red
As I said RED is the color of my mood in this time...
today I'm looking at this beautiful Oakshott fabrics I bought in Amsterdam and I'm thinking for a project to do with them...maybe a hot colorful hexies purse?
By the way, if you are in Amsterdam, visit the Birdblocks patchwork shop...just lovely!
Thanks again, Merel!

Yesterday (raining Sunday) I made 54 half inch hexies with some beautiful Japanese fabrics.
And now I'm sewing them together...

Coming soon!
