Moon Faces

This is my mini quilt I named "Moon Faces"
I made it just for fun and to play with the beautiful Carolyn Friedlander fabrics.

I also played with the quilting threads .
I used three different kind of threads : pale grey , orange and metallic silver .
I love the add of a little sparkle ...
...in life it should always be !

My Blogger's (not again a)Quilt Festival

I know, I know the saying..."it isn't a quilt until it's quilted"...
...and so, okay,...I haven't a  finished quilt for the Blogger's Festival Spring edition...
...do you forgive me if I show you just a top?

This is my first project using only solid colors and I have loved to make it!
I have taken inspiration from a quilt I saw on a Quiltmania magazine but I have changed the roof and rearranged all the measures of the blocks and I have proposed it as a monthly project (BOM) into a quilts shop where I teach .
So this is just the sampler... and I'm so curious to see how all the quilts (now again in progress) will turn out.

This is the block I prefer..a little (five inches) , bright, full solid colors pineapple!

And , as every year, many THANKS to Amy for organizing this wonderful quilts and blogs tour!

ENJOY THE TOUR!

Amish houses progress

The Amish houses quilt top is growing on the design wall...

...simply houses on a dark background.

New patches

I have made some sampler patches for two different upcoming classes...
...the colors are away from my comfort zone...just springlike.

But I love the color shades of Kaffe Fasset fabrics (printed and shot cottons)  I have chosen and hope to be able to put the patches all together  when finished to make a quilt like this but in different colors.

The new quilt

I want to share with you the really early pic of a new quilt I'm working on...it progress very slowly to tell the truth.

The wonderful red and white new fabrics collection immediately suggested me the idea of this easy project but work, people and happening have kept me away from it.

Hope to find more time to work on in the next days!

In the meantime don't forget the great BLOGBIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY !
You are on time to join in again!

21.11.10

One more cup

I made one more coffee cup with the wonderful Kaffe Fassett fabrics (prints and shot cottons).

This time I have used the sewing machine appliquè...

...and I'm happy for how it turns out.

Blogger's Quilt Festival time

Welcome all!

For this edition of the Blogger's Quilt Festival I have chosen to share with you the very first quilt I made.
I took the basic level class on January 2003 and before the class was ended I had already finished my City Log Cabin quilt.

As you can guess I love it even if my quilting style is so changed now!

But this little quilt has a special place on the wall in my home and in my heart too!

LOVE

Finally the LOVE top is done!
Grey sky and wet day didn't help me into take a good pic...sorry!
I have completed the sashing with some wonky corner blocks and the outer border is made with two purple shades and some random L,O,V and E blocks.

Also Trudi says I made a good job!
