The Butterfy quilt is the my best finish for the 2012

It's made with 143 butterfly blocks and 33 little things adorn the outer border.

 

 

I love the colors of this quilt but much more the mood...

fresh and not conventional.

Time to Finish

As in my life some things arrived to the end so I need to finish the projects on which I have worked in the last period.

 The Amish houses quilt is totally done...

 The Kaffe Fasset houses quilt is just ready to be quilted...

 

The Butterfly quilt is waiting to be quilted too.

It's time to finish ! 

New life ... new quilt

Hallo to all !
Sorry for the long time without posting. In the last two weeks my life is totally changed.
I have left my work. I'm fine now but still a bit  confused. New time to fill , new  things to get used to and old things to forget...   

...my mind is like this quilt: filled  of new projects with the happiness of the colors and the lightness of the butterflies...

Again some photos of the BOM Houses quilt in progress.  Better colors but not still the real (no good light in this days here).  These are the blocks I made with the scraps of the blocks. I want  to add  them to the border. They are 4" square and are really cute. The idea , as I said , is to mix  randomly pieces of  roofs fabrics and these blocks. Hope the photos can give you  the sensation  of the layout.   

By the way , also  the butterfly blocks are growing on my design wall. I have an idea for the border of this quilt too. But is too early for this...next time!

Running over the blogs I have seen this block everywhere in this days...

...I have met it here and here and here and here ...

...and every time it have kept my attention and my thoughts...  

...so I decided to try it me too.

I read carefully this post about it and I followed the way recommended to Rita .

I made the design and from this obtained the templates to make the block with rotary cutting and machine piecing method.

Here are my early four butterfly blocks...

I'm enthusiastic...I love them...I'm totally addicted!
