Moon Faces

This is my mini quilt I named "Moon Faces"
I made it just for fun and to play with the beautiful Carolyn Friedlander fabrics.

I also played with the quilting threads .
I used three different kind of threads : pale grey , orange and metallic silver .
I love the add of a little sparkle ...
...in life it should always be !

A box is always a good idea...

You will have fun in choosing the fabrics...in personalizing the box...and , at last, in showing them to friends

...a quick tutorial would be a good idea too?
...someone interested in?

New and old projects

Little patches for a new project in solids colors... ...and again a soft fabric box.

Crazy checked cat

Do you like the checked cat?

I find inspiration for it on the wonderful MaryLou Weidman new book just received.

And a great surprise from MaryLou...on the first page sweet words just for me!

Thank you MaryLou!
Can you guess how proud I'm? :-))

A new block

I tried today a new funny block. I saw it some time ago on a blog (sorry I really don't remember where) but you just can consider it an evolution of the asterisk block of which find a good tut here or here

As usually no a definite project for this block but only the fun to experiment something new !

Finishes

A very little sampler just to take confidence with some nice quilt finishes I have learned yesterday during a beautiful class made by Sara.

My preferred is the Prairie points...a little chain of triangles . Sweet!

But also the Flat piping (true or simple) is really a interesting way to finish a quilt.

I have enjoyed this class so much! Thanks Sara!
And you , how do you like to finish your projects?

OK.... not all turn out perfect at the first time :-(
but I hope to become better with practice :-))

28.2.11

During the last 4 days...

...I was left without telephone line at home to my telephone company...so no Internet, no mail, no one distraction...so I can show some progress I made in the Pixie medallion...

...just to give you (and me too) an idea on how it will turn out.

...and a new fabric collection I received.

I bought a pre-cuts Layer Cake and a Charm Pack maybe for the first time...
...what do you think about pre-cuts fabrics?

...for now I'm crazy for the this running after the ball dogs!

28.1.11

Friendship

I have ended the Friend block thinking about how magic could be the friendship and how ,sometime, we can feel close people we have never met.

By the way I can say I'm really happy for how the block has turned out.

So many bright colors and so fun in making.

Just for fun

A pentagons ball...useful for nothing...just for fun!

About patchwork

About patchwork...I quilted the colorful sampler made during the last first level class...

...and a great news for the quilters living in my region...
...e una bella novità per le quilter della mia regione (e perchè no, anche di quelle un pò più in là)

...a new quilt shop in Trieste (Opicina) where find all we need...
...un nuovo negozio per il patchwork a Opicina (Trieste) piccolo ma veramente carino e ben fornito...

...Irene is the smiling owner and The Red Fox is the name of the shop...

You have to visit it if you are in this side of the Italy!

Spiderweb block

My job took me away from patchwork in the last week...but today I'm come back to it. And I would try something new...so I try the spiderweb block. I have found here a very good tutorial.
This is the first triangle...

...and the first block...( I have followed a different way to assemble the triangles)

...and the first completed spiderweb!
