Are you thinking about your next vacancies?
I'm thinking about the mine since now. I 'm going to organize a two weeks journey in New England for the next July.
I have bought and read some travel guides and I have visited special web sites.
Now I have a lot of information but not so clear ideas.
Do you know the New England?Have you ever visited the New England?
Are you living there?
So if you have a very special place (...every kind of place...city, village, natural place, restaurant, B&B, quilts shop, etc.) to recommend me or if you think I cant say "I was in New England" if I didn't see something you know...PLEASE, send me a mail and I will put your SPECIAL PLACE in my itinerary!
Thanks!
Had a fabulous holiday in Boston! Loads to see and do!
RispondiEliminaI think you should check out the Kancamangus Highway in New Hampshire, and get to the top of Mount Washington. Portsmouth NH is gorgeous, and you GOTTA check out The Quilted Threads quilt shop in Henniker NH.
RispondiEliminaCome south!!! NYC is calling for you Nichi!!
RispondiEliminaWe Drive from NYC up the coast all the way up to St. Andrew on the Sea in New Brunswick Canada... I don't have any fab finds for places to stay but the east coast of Canada is really lovely...But I am up for being tour guide if you come back to NYC! ;-)
mattering what you want to do on vacation, musuems?
RispondiEliminalandmarks? the beach???
you have to stay in Boston a few days , you should go to Newport Rhode Island, see the mansions and visit the wharf area
Theres the Shelburne Musuem , Sturbridge Village you should see.
Maine is beautiful...
If you go to Keepsake Quilting in New Hampshire, make sure you go to Meredith NH there is a great restaurant there where you can have a Thanksgiving Dinner every day of the year, and its very reasonable fun place last time we were there.
Kathie ask away any questions you have
I live in New Hampshire in New England and love it. I also love the state of Maine and you should definitely visit the coast of Maine. But the best of New England is right off the coast of Massachusetts on the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Martha's Vineyard is my favorite place to go. When are you visiting?
RispondiEliminaI've never been to this region of our beautiful country (world). Would love to hear about your upcoming trip and learn from your research. This type of trip is definitely on my bucket list.

Haven't been to New England since I was a girl... my family use to vacation at Cape Cod and Maine. I would love to go back, such a very, very beautiful area. (If it weren't for the winters I think it would be a lovely place to live.) Have fun planning your super vacation!
RispondiEliminaif you are in maine, don't miss boothbay harbor or (further north) bar harbor where acadia national park is, beautiful right on the coast and you can drive up cadillac mountain; another great shop in massachusetts is cambridge quilts, right near must-see harvard square and the cape cod national seashore is breathtakingly beautiful, as is most of the coast of new england. i agree, the new england quilt museum and keepsake are must-see places for any quilter...come in the autumn as the colors are simply incomparable
RispondiEliminaWhat type of activities do you like to do on vacation? Beautiful beaches, great hiking,
RispondiEliminahistoric places, museums, there's always something to do. I live in New England (New Hampshire) and would be happy to recommend some places.
New England is such a gorgeous place! I love 4 places there especially: If you get to Maine, Acadia National Park is just glorious. I loved walking the rocky beach. And it's great to go up Cadillac Mountain and watch the sunrise over Porcupine Island in Bar Harbor (at Acadia). Afterwards be sure to get some wild blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Also in Maine is Sabbathday Lake Shaker village. It's small, where the Shakers (a tiny religious group) have their home. It's simple and gorgeous. The space of their church is so calming and beautiful, so simple (simplicity is their hallmark). Have you heard of Shaker furniture? If you get to Salem, Massachusetts, be sure to take the ferry out to Marblehead, so great, very New England. And fourth, I love all the historical stuff from the American Revolution in Boston and the nearby towns (Lexington, Concord). And as an Italian, you'll enjoy the Italian areas of Boston -- see what Americans think Italian food is!! Have a wonderful trip!
RispondiEliminaI live in Connecticut and there are tons of things to do on the shoreline and Long Island Sound. Other places we enjoy are Boston, Cape Code, Nantucket, Block Island, Martha's Vineyard, the White Mountains in New Hampshire. So many places. There are tons of quilt shops too! Ooo.. another good place is Salem and Gloucester Massachusetts.
